High Horse In A Glass House

HighHorseGET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE

As some of you know, I live in Hollywood, CA and I work in TV, film and web production on both sides. Both sides meaning in front of the camera and behind the camera.

Just like any other work field, there is a hierarchy of job positions. The totem is very tall and so are the egos usually. Although I have noticed that the super famous people who you work with are usually the nicest!

Anyway, I was on set last week and an actor started asking me if I knew who ‘so and so’ was and if I knew who this actor was. I knew of the projects that this unnamed actor had starred in, but I couldn’t picture their face. You know how it is, there are soooo many actors and names in your head that the match game can be tough.

So the actor who was talking about this other actor who has a great resume, said that he went to one of the Starbucks in Hollywood and saw this unemployed actor, employed at Starbucks now.

The actor I was chatting with said he talked to the now Starbucks Barista and pointed out that the Barista was the former star of such and such projects. He said the unnamed actor played ‘dumb’ about his acting resume and apparently got red faced about the conversation.

“I can’t believe he was working at Starbucks! If I were famous I would never be seen working at Starbucks. I would get a job in an office where I didn’t have to see anybody,” said the guy I was chatting with.

THIS is not okay people. This guy is shaming another person for having a different kind of job. So what- the former actor isn’t starring in a show right now. He’s making ends meet and working a job at Starbucks. Or maybe this actor doesn’t want to act anymore?

I hear people say condescending things like this all of the time. There is nothing wrong with taking a job in the food and beverage industry, janitorial, service industry or any work field that isn’t considered “glamourous.”

Life is tough and a lot of us are in poverty or close to it. We have so many bills and responsibilities, that we have to work our asses off to make ends meet.

Being ‘out of work’ or ‘unemployed’ sucks. Especially when you knock on a thousand doors and you get nothing back for sometimes a year!

Never be ashamed of working anywhere to make your income. Don’t let some person degrade you or disrespect you in your current position. They are ignorant and have their own perceptive distortion disorder.

BE PROUD of yourself and the job you have. BE RESPECTFUL to others servicing you.

If you do your best at whatever job you are doing, then you will feel good about yourself no matter what. Do not let someone else’s perception dictate your perception.

Sin nor Saint

Lisa_scarves The silence of our sins

Turns into secrets within

The essence of him

Rolls through me again

Untruth unsettles the heart

Monsters try to pull us apart

Forever means now

Please God show me how

Love you, to love him

I need attention friend

See you

See me

Heaven knows you can’t reach thee

Leave no stone unturned

I tried so many times

How will I get back up and not get burned

I want you

I want it all

Drink the Kool-aid and take the fall

Manhattan Beach Sunset

Taste The Rainbow

Freedom

Flesh to ashes

Dust to wind

‘Til death do I part

You win

Swaying in the storm

Dirt devil in the sand

Leaves in the pool

Begging homeless man

Sun burns my eyes

Feet charred from the grind

Heart still beating

Test of the mind

Heart wired strong

Faith and despair

No more persecution

Only wind in my hair

Freedom at last

It’s the last freedom

Taste the rainbow

Have rhyme

Have reason

Southbay Sunset

SouthbaySunset

Like a Southbay sunset…

he came

and he went.

Just like love

falling away from your finger tips.

Distance you must travel

to open your mind.

Traffic is crap almost every time.

I love the palm trees.

I love the sun.

Will there ever be room for any one?

Blessed rain,

washed the sins of the town away.

Out came the sun,

what a glorious day.

Lisa Mason Lee Joins Real Scene TV

PRESS RELEASE
Indianapolis, IN – December 11, 2013

Lisa Mason Lee Joins Real Scene TV

Lisa Mason LeeComing off of her one-year reign as the “Face of MyINDY-TV 23,” Lisa Mason Lee is moving onto her next opportunity! Having reeled in more clients and revenue than the other previous winners, Lee’s on-camera and behind the scenes talents (filming, producing, editing) are undeniably a commodity for any business looking to further succeed.

Lee expresses, “When I was the Face of MyINDY-TV 23, it was my goal to take the position to a new level. I was the first Face who ever produced their own original show (My Entertainment Minute), and the first Face to bring in the most ‘Face’ business to the station.”

To say the least, Miss Lee likes to go big. Before the Face position, Lee spent time between Hollywood and Las Vegas acting and writing. Some of her accomplishments include becoming one of the top 500 most subscribed YouTubers globally, a published writer and reporter on People.com, MTV.com and Hollyscoop.com. Lee even acted in movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and co-starred in a web series alongside Audrina Patridge.

This year, during Lee’s time back in Indy, she made her directorial debut at the Indiana Short Film Festival, where her documentary short was chosen as an official selection. Another one of Lee’s recent and favorite accomplishments, is her acting performance in an Emmy nominated commercial. Lee shared the screen with the Butler Bulldog mascots, and the commercial received an Emmy nomination for its great production.

Lee continues, “I take pride in working hard and seeing projects through until everyone is satisfied. I am looking forward to creating new material with people who care just as much as I do about it.”

You can currently catch Lisa commentating on daytime show “TMZ Live” via TMZ.com, and also on the local late night TV show “Real Scene TV,” airing every other Saturday following “Saturday Night Live” on WTHR Channel 13.

Joshua David Evans, Asher Levin, Lisa Mason LeeMy friend Asher Levin who directed the Web series “Dream Maker” I was in, directed a new music video for Richard Simmons! The new song is called “Hair Do,” and it’s all about having fun hair.

Does Richard Simmons ever age?! He looks great, and he looks pretty good as a woman too! Beware- the song is contagious like a Britney Spears track! “Short, long, straight or curly- get something cute, get something girly!”
